Holland Wilson was born and raised in small town Louisiana with a strong heritage of family and tradition.  As a teenager visiting relatives “out west” she fell in love with the Rocky Mountains and after graduate school, Holland moved to Cody where she earned her therapy license at Yellowstone Behavioral Health Center. It was then, running the roads of the National Parks and exploring the glorious surroundings that Holland felt certain she had found her place.  She took a break from practice to sell fine art and bronze sculpture before relocating to the Alpine/Star Valley area, where she resumed work in the therapy field.

Holland is a mental health professional trained in psychotherapy and family systems. She is licensed to diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders within the context of marriage, couples and family systems.  She is trained to evaluate and treat mental and emotional disorders, other health and behavioral problems, and address a wide array of relationship issues within the context of the family system.  As an Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Holland seeks to broaden the traditional emphasis on the individual to attend to the nature and role of individuals in primary relationship networks such as marriage and the family.  She takes a holistic perspective to health care, concerned with the overall, long-term well-being of individuals and their families.

Holland is particularly attentive to issues of attachment, grief, and loss, and is experienced in working with struggles/questions regarding spirituality/religion, and sex & sexuality (LGBT).  She has unique insights for survivors of suicide and traumatic deaths. Experienced in sand tray and play therapy work, Holland also utilizes an array of systemic theories in order to find the approach that will best help her clients meet their goals.  She seeks to co-create an enhanced quality of life with her clients.
